As a member of the jet-setting elite, Justin Trudeau likes to travel.
One of the reasons he won’t easily give up his job. What other job would let
him travel the world in style at someone else’s expense? He logs an average of
100,000 km each year. This is a list of international prime ministerial trips,
taken from the Wikipedia
Justin Trudeau International Travel website with additional information. It
doesn't include trips inside the country, of which there were many more. The
opportunities for photo-ops and preaching were endless. Many of the trips on
official business had no real government value, were redundant or abject
failures. It should be noted that that the Prime Minister does not travel alone
on government travel - it can include an entourage of up to 40 to 50 other
people, sometimes with family. Even his vacations are costly to the Canadian
taxpayer, requiring travel on a government jet and security provided by the RCMP wherever he goes. And always eager to spend taxpayers' money, billions of dollars were doled out on feel-good projects during his visits.

March 16-17 |
Trudeau travelled to New York City to visit the UN Headquarters. Trudeau announced Canada's bid to take a seat in the UN Security Council for a two-year term beginning in 2021. The failed attempt cost $2.3 million and was criticized as a vanity project with no hope of success. He signed the Paris agreement on climate change, giving his word that Canada will harness the power of renewable energy as a way of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. One report concluded that to meet Canada's international target of 30 per cent reduction in GHGs by 2030, Canada will have to bring its emissions down by 208 million tons. This is equivalent to taking more than all the gasoline and diesel-powered cars and trucks in the country, including off-road vehicles, off the road. His Liberal government subsequently enacted punishing and ineffective carbon taxes and delusional plans to replace all energy sources in the country with electricity. |

This was deemed significant as the Aga Khan Foundation, a registered lobby, had received over $50 million of federal funding in 2016. |
